Preparing for a Crisis - Have a Plan!

Hear from school security expert, Director Jeff Gale of the NJ Dept. of Education's Office of School Preparedness & Emergency Planning, on the best strategies for crisis communication, expectations for the district and for police in a crisis situation, and how PIOs need to work together. Also learn the 1,2,3's of creating a solid crisis communication plan from NJSPRA member Jeanne Mignella of Pemberton Township Schools.

  


Journalists Turned School Communication Pros 
A panel of NJSPRA members who are former-journalists-turned-school-communication-professionals share their best advice for upping your game with media relations. Panelists include: Paul Brubaker, Renee Janowicz, Gary Miller and Bruce Moran.
       



Reporters Are on My Campus - Now What? 
Tutorial on Media Training 
Tom Slater, Communication Contractor and former Risk Communications Director for New Jersey Department of Health, will provide media training, including mock interviews, to help prepare attendees for when the media puts the spotlight on your district.
